HARNESSING THE OCEAN

TO HEAL OUR WORLD

Mozaico at a glance

Mozaico, founded in April 2024, upgrades seawater-cooled power plants while enabling the removal of gigatons of atmospheric CO2 and providing sustainable alternatives to mining. In a highly efficient single-step, the solution captures and sequesters CO2 into essential raw materials (minerals) while providing soft water for various uses. All while accomplishing a deeply carbon-negative, cost-effective, and energy efficient process. Operating profitably and independently of carbon credits, Mozaico’s solution reduces power plant maintenance, duration, and consumables and also eliminates the need for environmentally hazardous chemicals for water treatment. These result in higher energy efficiency, lower production costs, and reduced carbon footprint, aligning with Mozaico’s commitment to impactful, profitable, and sustainable solutions. Our groundbreaking electrochemical technology was developed at Israel’s Technion in Dr. Charlotte Vogt’s laboratory and is IP protected with multiple patents.

Our Solution

Mozaico’s Novel solution, capable of removing Gigatons of atmospheric CO2 , satisfies the three criteria: Patented nanostructured electrode design that minimizes energy use, resulting in a cost of ~$30 / tCO2 sequestered Patented, highly selective and tightly controlled mineralization results in a carbon-negative process (250 kWh / tCO2 sequestered) Byproduct minerals sequester the carbon indefinitely and add an additional revenue stream

The Problem

Existing carbon dioxide removal methods do not satisfy the three essential criteria set by the US DoE for a valid Gigaton-scale solution: Carbon-negative footprint under all energy sources Cost-effective energy process (less than $100 / tCO2 sequestered) Long-term sequestration (over 100 years, preferably thousands or more)
